Blu Oyster – Favorite Fish Restaurant

Whether you are a fish connoisseur or land-lubber, Blu Oyster is sure to please. What makes Blu Oyster special is their unique selection of sushi along with tasty hot dishes. None of their menu options are “run of the mill”. And their oysters are delectable. If you live in the West Ashley – Johns Island area you know there are few restaurants that offer a diverse menu for all tastes.

Along with great meals, Blu Oyster employs the best staff of bartenders and servers in the Lowcountry. The cocktails are fantastic, distinctive, and not watered down. On our most recent journey, we ordered an hors d’oeuvre we just picked at. It tasted fine but our server noticed and took the item off our bill without us asking. Why, because at Blu Oyster, everyone wants you to be happy and will not accept “just fine”. So if you are planning a special date-night or a family dinner out, Blu Oyster is the place to go.

La Pizzeria

La Pizzeria
La Pizzeria

One of my earliest memories is grabbing a slice of pizza after school. I lived in New York City and the slice was 25 cents! The crust was crunchy but the cheese was perfectly melted with homemade tomato sauce that drizzled down my chin. (Such simple pleasures  make us the happiest.) Now a Charlestonian, my search for that perfect Neapolitan pizza seemed out of reach, until I found La Pizzeria! Just 5 minutes from the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant, La  Pizzeria has Italian owners who use the freshest ingredients straight from Italy. That’s why the pizza dough is different from any other pizzeria in the low country. Ellis Creek Fish Camp

If you love to be outside an enjoy beautiful marsh vistas, then Ellis Creek Fish Camp is the place for you.  Whether you want brunch, lunch, or dinner, Ellis Creek Fish Camp has delicious food, great drinks and splendid service. You never feel rushed at ECFC.  I love their waffles which are the best I’ve ever tasted. Their crab cakes and shrimp are always fresh and their pecan slaw is delectable. Burgers and chicken are menu options if you aren’t a seafood fan.  We go there on our way to Folly Beach, back from downtown Charleston, or just to enjoy beautiful Charleston weather.  Ellis Creek Fish Camp is family and pet friendly with menus for both kids and dogs!  Head on over to 1243 Harbor View Road, Charleston, SC 29412 and give them a try.  Call (843) 297-8878 for more information.
